Kaunas Real Street Competition 2012 has passed with great success. Everything went as planned – there was no rain or delay, so all bladers were excited to participate.
First spot was in the center of the city – near the “war” museum. It was a simple ledge, where best results where shown by Martynas Krisiunas – this guy just killed the spot, doing every possible trick.
Second spot was near the new Kaunas “Zalgirio” arena, it was a rail with a round ending. Few traumas were experienced here, some bladers couldn’t continue so they ended the competition here. Two best guys here – Aivaras (a.k.a. Arunciks) and Modestas Nemsevicius. They made some sick switch ups, Aivaras was the only one to grind the round ending of the rail.
Third spot was at the “Ciurlionio” bridge – it’s a four kink ledge with slippery stairs and sand everywhere, making it even a harder spot. The ledge was called “Zudikas bortas” what means “killer ledge”. It got it’s name because everyone who tries to skate here – ends up bleeding or broken. The guy, who nailed this killer ledge was Konstantin Terentev. This guy didn’t seem to be one of the leaders in first spots, but few switch ups in the 3rd spot guaranteed him 2nd place in the competition. Justas Karcauskas, the champion of 2011 Lithuanian Rolling League, made the best trick of the day – stylish bs royal down the killer ledge with two kinks and took 3rd place in the competition. Modestas Nemsevicius made his usual run with some very hard and stylish tricks. This stable skating in every spot got him the 1st place in the competition!
Afterparty and awards ceremony with some “out of shape” skating was held in Kaunas indoor skatepark, where Justinas Mereskevicius (a.k.a. Zwyp) won the game of blade competition.
